Emotional Cement

Like the dewy kiss of spring,

Love comes waltzing in –

Tantalizing our senses,

Making us rejoice, making us sing.

Gratifying as it may be,

A kiss so light – so tender.

But more gratifying than

A sunny day in all its’ splendor.

The words we once whispered,

Too afraid to say aloud,

Have come to us again engaging our hearts

Brightening our day, making us proud.

Endearments to be broadcast,

To be shared with all.

To be savored in our hearts,

And waiting for our call.

The love we once only felt,

Too timid to investigate,

Has opened our resting eyes

Only to have us hesitate.

In speaking of our love

With words near our soul,

We vocalize our feelings,

With tenderness our ultimate goal.

This world can survive

With kisses, love and endearments,

Though silly as it may seem,

Together they make up our emotional cement.
