Mark Knopfler

I love music.  I always have and I suppose I always will.  I'm a shameless fan of music from the 1970's, and I'm not afraid to admit it in mixed company.

Mark Knopfler is perhaps best known as the lead man in Dire Straits. Besides guiding DS through the years, Mark has completed soundtracks for some of the best movies out there. My personal favorite is The Princess Bride. Awesome movie, excellent soundtrack. On a scale of one to five, five being the best, I’d have to rate it a five all the way. Just like Mark’s solo work.

Sniff n the Tears is one of my all time favorites. You may know them as a “one hit wonder” but I know them as a wonderful, melodic sounding band. Unfortunately, the record companies didn’t see fit to really advertise and promote the band, so it’s just hung around as it were. I have most of the albums, and unlike most albums, the album art is original. Paul Roberts, the man behind Sniff ‘n’ the Tears, is the man whose art dons the cover of Sniff’s albums. You can see the album covers, and they are for sale, at the band site. Click the band banner above to be transported immediately.

If I get permission from the “official” folks, I’ll turn each of the bands names into links to their respective sites.  So, if you know them and have any sway with them, please ask them to give me permission to link to their site.  They can e-mail me at The Music Lounge and such.

My  favorite bands include:

The Beatles, The Moody Blues, Steely Dan, Dire Straits, Elton John, Billy Joel, Jethro Tull, Led Zepplin, Beethoven, Chopin, CCR, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Robbie Robertson, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Boston, Aerosmith, The FAMU Marching 100, US Navy Band, John Mellencamp, Supertramp, Split Enz, Crowded House, Jess Franklin And The Best Little Blues Band, Zydeco Zoo, The Cars, Styx…

The list goes on, I’m sure you understand…

I’m going to start adding commentary on albums here. Stick around for more…
